The short version: UK Aerial Helper doesn't have a server, doesn't collect any personal data, doesn't use analytics or advertising, and doesn't share anything with anyone. Your location is used only on your own device to work out the nearest transmitter, and is never stored or sent anywhere.
This policy explains how UK Aerial Helper (the "app"), developed by Andy Dodd, handles information when you use it. The app has no company or organisation behind it beyond the individual developer.
Contact: andy@andy-dodd.com
The app asks for your device's location only when you tap "Find Nearest Transmitter." That location is used entirely on your device to calculate the distance and compass bearing to the nearest UK Freeview transmitter in the app's built-in list.
Your location is never transmitted off your device, never sent to any server (the app doesn't have one), never stored after the app closes, and never shared with any third party.
The app reads your device's compass heading to rotate the on-screen dial. This data is used live, on-device, only while the compass screen is open, and is never recorded or transmitted anywhere.
The only thing the app saves locally on your device is your preference for whether the alignment sound is on or off. This stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. It's deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
If you use the in-app "Report an issue" button, it opens your phone's own email app with a message addressed to andy@andy-dodd.com. Anything you choose to write and send is handled the same as any other email you send us — see below.
Any email you voluntarily send us (for support or otherwise) is used only to read and respond to you, kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, and never shared with anyone else or used for marketing.
The app doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, since it doesn't collect information at all beyond the on-device, non-transmitted uses described above.
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top will be updated and the new version posted at this same URL.
Since no personal data is collected or stored by us at all, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, or delete. If you have any questions about this, contact andy@andy-dodd.com.
